Universities must teach their students’ mental resilience to help them cope with a growing mental health crisis on campus, according to a new report.
The higher education sector needs to reconsider its “stiff upper lip” approach to resilience, it adds.
It comes amid mounting concerns that students’ are suffering from increasing levels of depression, anxiety and stress during their studies.

A YouGov poll published last year revealed that more than one in four (27 per cent) students suffered from mental health problems. Female students were significantly more likely to say they had poor mental health than male students with 34 per cent and 19 per cent respectively.
