Conservatives 

 

End the ban on selection and open 100 free schools a year. Local authorities will be barred from creating new places at “inadequate” schools. End free dinners in primary schools and put this money in core schools budget. Free breakfasts  at primary schools in England.

Labour 

 

Reverse Tory schooling cuts and reduce class sizes to less than 30 for five- to seven-year-olds. All primary school children to receive free school meals, paid for by removing the VAT exemption on private school fees.

 

Lib Dems 

 

No  grammar school expansion. Repeal rule that new state-funded schools must be free schools or academies, local authorities to control admissions and new schools. Reverse all frontline cuts to school budgets. Free school meals to all primary children.
