What can the Government do about the cost of university?
Since Jeremy Corbyn promised that Labour would abolish fees, there has been a frenzy of speculation about how the Government would respond. Here are the options:

After the election, there were private discussions in government about dramatically slashing or even abolishing fees to respond to Labour's promise.
But recently, the Education Secretary and universities minister have publicly savaged Labour's plans, saying they would "do little to help young people" and the "mind-bogglingly expensive" cost would be borne by public services.
