Schools are failing to prepare pupils for the world of work, Ofsted warns

Schools in England are failing to prepare pupils for the world of work and are putting the nation's future economic prosperity at risk, a report by watchdog Ofsted warns

The dire warning comes from the schools’ watchdog Ofsted after finding that the majority of state secondaries were not giving pupils enough work-related learning.

Inspectors visited 40 secondary schools earlier this year, but found that only four were giving sufficient priority to work-related learning and ‘enterprise’ education.
